Heartland Home Furnishings is pleased to open their doors once more to guests ambling down Hill Street. Here is where the original foundations of the furniture store grew in the early 90s with daily live demonstrations from craftsmen. And, this season you’ll once again hear the hum of saws, the notching of drawers from a dovetail machine and the patter of hammers as sturdy pieces come together before your very eyes in the all-new demonstration area.

Each item handcrafted at Heartland Home Furnishings comes complete with both a past and a future. Warren Cook, the City’s master furniture craftsman believes that, “the past of handcrafted furnishings can be found in the history and tradition that’s naturally infused when the finest wood is used to create exceptionally built furniture, with tools dating back to the 1800s.” He goes on to muse that the furnishing’s future is secured in the knowledge that, “these pieces find a useful place in a home where they are sure to be handed down for generations to come.” Warren loves when guests visit and tell him they bought his furniture 10 or 20 years earlier, and it is as sturdy and beautiful as the day they brought it home.

Accompanying Cook at Heartland is another talented young craftsman, Jacob Mease. Not fond of the idea of working in an office, he joined Silver Dollar City at the age of 14 working in foods before making his way to furniture where he discovered his true passion. “I love being able to come to work every day and enjoy what I do, because not everyone gets that life,” Jacob says. He strives daily to hone his natural talent and desire for fine furniture making, adding “I enjoy the intricacy involved in woodworking because it requires true skill and dedication.”

Both Cook and Mease create quality furnishings from white oak, as has been the tradition from the beginnings of the shop. They also work widely with alderwood and, new for this season, are excited to unveil some of their best creations yet in walnut. Each of these versatile woods can be transformed by a variety of finishes to fit the homeowner’s desired style. From traditional bedroom sets and dressers to coffee tables, side tables, signature bookcases and new home office options, each beautiful piece is sure to complete your space...making it your own personal sanctuary.

Worried about how you’ll get it home? Don’t fret, we’ve got you covered with shipping options available! Be sure to stop by Heartland Home Furnishings for a visit. Watch the masters at work and then peruse the shop where you will be sure to find the perfect piece.
